Famous for its summer festivals and its dedication to agricultural and marine activities, this destination, located on the shores of the Mar Menor, goes far beyond mere beach expectations. Modern air and flavour to the fishing village alternate in this stop that has as main tourist centres Santiago de la Ribera and La Manga del Mar Menor
Within its territory, dedicated to agricultural and marine activities, the coastal towns of Santiago de la Ribera and La Manga del Mar Menor stand out, both with an eminently touristy character. Santiago de la Ribera is a modern-style town that has a beautiful promenade and retains its flavour of a fishing village. La Manga offers the possibility of choosing between two seas with different temperatures, salinity and waves. In addition, its special qualities for water sports and a wide range of leisure and accommodation make it a great tourist destination. In the municipality of San Javier there is the General Air Academy, a centre for teaching pilots of the Air Force and the headquarters of the Águila aerobatic patrol, which bear the name of San Javier all over the world.
